Actually, I feel great! I love how much more water I have been drinking as a result of eliminating soda. Let's be clear, I still really like a little caffeine with my day, so Starbucks is still a treat I will allow myself to have every once in a while. But, I'm amazed at how much more energy I seem to have without all the caffeine and carbonation-goodness of my beloved DDP.
I've also began a food journal, in order to keep track of my eating habits and work on making better choices. It's crazy how much I re-think what I grab for, especially knowing I have to write down the food and look up the calories at the end of the day. And thanks to the beautiful weather we've been having here in the Northwest, we have been able to take family walks and I'm finding myself more motivated to get moving. I had a goal of getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight by the time Cooper is 6 months old, which is next Friday. Although I most likely won't make that exact goal, I will come pretty darn close. I'm 6 pounds away right now... if I were on the Biggest Loser campus with Bob and Jillian, then maybe I'd have a chance at losing 6 pounds in 10 days!
I just feel really good about the progress I have been making and the mental changes I have made in the last couple of weeks. And all I can say about the wedding photos below and the old dress I squeezed myself into is- thank goodness for SPANX!!
Oh, Diet Dr. Pepper, how I miss you so... actually, not really.
Okay, maybe a little.
Okay, maybe a little.

You may inspire me to start a food journal... we have been changing our eating habits around here thanks to "Eat this, not that"... but, I know that I still randomly snack too much... usually off the kids' plates!
Good job on ditching the chemically filled diet soda... water is so much better for you! I, thankfully, don't struggle with soda... but, everyone knows of my coffee dependency!
Brooke, I think you look awesome! You look skinny to me! :-)
If only I could get my husband to jump on your no-soda bandwagon. He's addicted to Diet Coke--like a 24-pack barely lasts him a week! Talk about sucking the calcium from your bones...let alone the money from our wallets! Ugh.
I love water. I love to add Crystal Lite to it though. I try to watch my sodium levels and pop is just not good for me. {sigh} Not to say that I don't indulge once in a while. :)
Fortunately, I don't like soda...so it's not even a temptation for me.
Also, I used to keep a food journal, but kind of lost track of it. Thanks for the reminder! I am going to start mine back up tomorrow!
By the way.....there was a team from the biggest loser at the marathon last weekend. I don't watch the show....but they were brothers and they were wearing black shirts. Supposedly they are from this season.
You look FABULOUS! Always have!!
Good for you! and funny too, because JUST this week....
I exchanged my (regular) Dr Pepper for water!!! Seriously! You can ask Josh. I did buy some of the little cans, in case I have a melt down and need a fix. And I still went by Starbucks this morning. And at snack time I opted for pretzels and pudding instead of the payday candy bar I really wanted.
I, too, am trying to get rid of the last little pooch before the beach in just 7 weeks! Don't worry, I've already decided to grow up and exchange the bikini for a tankini this year!
I'm starting to like having a twin!!
congratulations on quitting soda! i'm like lisa, i'm not that into it anyway. occasionally i get a 7up for a treat, like at the movies, but that's it. nothing quenches thirst like water!
lisa stole my story! i was going to tell you about the biggest loser guys at our marathon. they are from this season. but i didn't see any cameras, so i don't think it was being used for the show.
